Dr. Erfanian researched methods to reduce end-to-end latency and enhance QoE in live ABR streaming. Dr. Çetinkaya developed ML approaches for HTTP adaptive streaming and two new techniques were proposed; FaME-ML and FaRes-ML. QLearning RDO and Esa-net also improved video segment quality by reducing artifacts up to 2.6dB PSNR gain. It improves coding performance, enables seamless streaming and prediction from forward and backward frames. Microsoft to Shut Down Azure Media Services Next Year, Exit the Video Workflow Business

Microsoft is shutting down Azure Media Services June 30 2024 and abandoning video workflow business. This was expected since their CTO was let go last year, and various media service pages had broken links and images not updated. They are recommending customers to switch to Harmonic, MediaKind, Bitmovin and Ravenur whilst Edgio is left as the only CDN partner. It is beneficial for them to cut products not related to their core strengths.
